T O P I C R E V I E Wsunbeam in the woodsWith synastry and composite charts which tends to carry the most significance in relationship harmonies. Obviously good charts for both is ideal but what if two people have a desirable/healthy level of synastry but a rather challenging composite ot vise-versa. Will one override the other? Or does poor synastry mean real strife and the relationships likely failure regardless of a good composite? And likewise does good synastry conquer all?...MY BRAIN HURTS!The Mutable Night ForceHmm hm hmm... Well, I wish i could say good synastry conquers all- i wish it did! But, from what I've experienced, it's not as important as a Composite chart. However, it depends on the relationship at hand. What you gotta remember is that synastry is merely a comparison of two peope's charts... like a comparison of their different energies, to see how alike they are and how they might interact with one another... how well they get on I reckon. But Composite is the bigger picture. A composite chart is how two people function as a couple. It's a combination of theirs energies, their charts, mixed into one, just like the energies between two people close in real life would. This is why you need to be in a sort of relationship (romantic or not) to really do a composite chart.Put it this way, I reckon you can have pretty dull synastry but a great composite chart and you stand a good chance of a decent relationship. But you can have 'amazing' synastry and it's no guarantee of being able to work as a couple and have good copmposite.I had this with someone. it sucks. Synastry gets your hopes up occasionally.MommaAriesCan you provide some links so I know what the difference between a synastry chart looks like vs a composite chart? Or is there different information used in each to pull up the results?------------------"People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget the way you made them feel." -the great, Maya Angelousunbeam in the woodsThanks for your answers so far. Any imput is greatfully recieved. I am merely exploring astrology and i have no present relationship to compare synastry or composite information on. I often go to astrotheme.com and look at various couples and their success or not in relationships! I tend to use astrodienst at astro.com to do both chart but find alot of differences in result between the different styles. Liz Greene, Huber, astrodienst and classic are the ones i usually use... does anyone have any advise on which is the bast for composite and which for synastry?Taurus80bump!GlaucusIt's more complexed than thatYou don't just focus on composite and synastry. You have to focus on the natal chart of each person. A person with Venus square Uranus might not want to be a in committed relationship even though there is a Venus trine Saturn in synastry and Moon trine Satur nin composite. A person with Venus in Capricorn trine Saturn might not want to be in a committed relationship that has too much excitement indicated by Venus oppose Uranus in synastry and Moon square Uranus in composite. A person with Sun in Pisces square Neptune might not want to be in a relationship where it's too serious that could be indicated by Sun-Moon-Saturn t-square. You have to consider how each person is in relationship and if they have any unresolved issues that could affect how they are in relationships. For instance, I have a t-square of Moon in Pisces in 6th square the opposition of retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th and Jupiter-Neptune in Sagittarius in 3rd. I have a history of insecurity, and self esteem issues due to my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia. I didn't tell women about my special education history. I was afraid that they would treat me like I am inferior and a child. That always made it hard for me to be in relationships. Also my disorganization, memory problems causes problems in relationships. I get misunderstood. The key for me to have a good relationship is for me to be open about my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia, work on my self esteem issues. I need understanding from my partner about my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia. I want somebody who can understand my learning disabilities and see me as an equal but who has special issues. I also feel that a lot of people overlook the challenging stuff in their synastry too. BlueEyes24I think synastry is more important than composite, but that's just my opinion...synastry is HOW you affect EACH OTHER. And of course each natal chart is very important to study before you even look at the synastry or composite. My boyfriend and I have awesome synastry, but a not so good composite chart....tons of oppositions, squares, and conjunctions....I feel the synastry represents us a lot more. Actually, when I look at our composite it seems really inaccurate. But everyone has their own opinions on composite charts.GlaucusI have an overall harmonious synastry with my girlfriend, but a mixed composite. Our composite seems accurate...it looks like an interracial relationship chart.Liz Greene compares composite to each natal chart to see how the relationship affects each person.JunoI think Synastry does depend an awful lot on each persons own natal aspects, if you main aspects are being hit then maybe you feel the zing more than if they weren't ( perhaps that is how one sided unrequited love ect occurs). What confuses me about composites is the whole midpoint normal one verses the Davidson one.....at least with synastry you know what you're looking for and at.comica23I agree that synastry shows the potential of how the energies from both sides might affect on each other, and that the composite shows the potential of the relationship's nature. It's good to look at both stuffs to get some hints.I also agree with Glaucus how he said about how important is to look for each other's charts to understand each other's problems/virtues and what each desire/dislike in a relationship/others.No matter how bad a relationship can be, if each other can put some effort to solve the problems together, than the bond would be stronger.. And no matter how good a relationship can be, if the couple is not mature enough or has some personal issues that aggravates the situation (like insecurity issues), everything might turn out bad in the end.Personally, I've seen some couples with good synastry (some really nice ones..) fail coz they never learned from the mistakes until the end..Me and my bf have a hard synastry (with 2 t-squares and no big 3 compatibility T_T ), yet he was really patient and caring when anything happens, and it made me want to try harder to learn from my mistakes (my insecurity issues). It's nice if you can have a good synastry and composite with someone, but in life, not every relationship can be that happy and easy-going.. but it's important to learn with the difficulties and differences to overcome them. ^_^Astrology tells us the potentials.. yet how it grows depends on our hands.
